Naina Sethi (Taapsee Pannu), a business-woman was accused of the murder of Arjun Joseph (Tony Luke). Naina is a young successful businesswoman. She has a loving family. The seemingly perfect world collapses when she becomes a suspect for the murder of her secret lover Arjun. In order to defend her testimony, her lawyer friend hires a prestigious senior advocate, Mr. Badal Gupta, who has never lost any case yet.
Naina narrates her story to Badal. But her story gets more and more complex. But Badal very confidence in his experience connects the dots and explains the story better to Naina herself, which results in a shocking result.
Could Naina be innocent or could she be a criminal?
The twist in the story arises when Badal Gupta links her story to an incident where she was the previous incident when she and Arjun were together and met with an accident where a boy lost his life. Naina alters the story lots of times so as to prove whether Badal could really put her out of all the trouble.
Actually, one day when Naina and her lover returning to their homes through woods she accidentally met with an accident, and in the fear that husband would find about her she decides to hide this incident. She plans to throw the body into the sea. Her mother then finds the truth and tries to take revenge. But was it really an accident, did mother kill Arjun? And how Badal knows about her so much? Naina is guilty. That day he did not die but still, she drowned the car. The main suspense is Badal is the father of the one who died in an accident, he was disguised to take revenge. And Arjun was indeed killed. She got trapped in his game

Conclusion
There is a perfect balance of charisma and mysteriousness. Both Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu has done fabulous acting. Amrita Singh is a real treat. Tony Luke is good despite his weak Hindi. Manav Kaul could have more screen time.
It is intelligently scripted and executed. It is both engaging and enjoyable. The unexpected ending is on the top of this well-crafted suspense thriller.
Most of the drama unfolds between just the two characters Naina and Badal Gupta, as they recollect the episode of Arjun’s murder. But, the very fact that both characters withhold the truth and reveal who they are slowly and steadily keeps the intrigue alive. They take reference from the Mahabharat.
