Malaysian Fish with human like lips and teeth

On 2nd July 2020, a Twitter user @raff_nasir posted a photo of a Triggerfish with human-like lips and teeth.

The image has since gone viral and has been terrifying netizens across the globe.

However, we would like to break it to you that the image is probably fake.

Triggerfish are real with plump lips, however, the images might be edited a little, according to the expert. Triggerfish are known to have an unusual set of teeth but they don't resemble human teeth.

David Booth, a marine ecologist at the University of Technology, Sydney, told CNET, "The ocean triggerfish on the Great Barrier Reef attacks divers who approach its nest. Their very strong teeth can remove a finger!"

However, he added, "Their teeth are large but not human-like, so yes the pictures do look fake!"

Triggerfish are usually found in the Indo-Pacific region. There are about 40 known species of triggerfish. They have an oval-shaped, highly compressed body.
